Shop Somfy Remote Controls

Browse our range of genuine Somfy handheld remotes for motorised blinds, curtains and awnings.

Start by confirming whether your motor uses RTS or Zigbee. Then choose the number of channels and any additional functions you require, including built-in timers, sun control or precise Venetian blind til

Standard Somfy RTS Remotes

Standard Somfy RTS remotes provide simple, reliable control for compatible RTS motorised blinds, curtains, awnings and screens.

Each channel can operate one compatible RTS motor or several motors programmed to move together. No Wi-Fi, app or smart hub is required for normal remote operation.

Somfy Zigbee Remotes

Somfy Zigbee remotes are designed specifically for compatible Somfy Zigbee motors.

Choose a one channel remote for one motor or group, or a multi channel remote when you want to control several blinds or groups separately.

Somfy Zigbee remotes provide direct handheld control without requiring an app for everyday operation. They will not operate Somfy RTS motors.

Somfy Chronis RTS Timer Remotes

Chronis RTS remotes combine handheld control with built-in scheduling.

The Telis 6 Chronis RTS can control up to six RTS channels and operate compatible motorised blinds automatically at programmed times. It is ideal for morning and evening routines, afternoon heat control or creating the appearance that someone is home while you are away.

Somfy Soliris RTS Remotes

Somfy Soliris remotes are designed for compatible RTS systems using automatic sun control.

Choose the Situo 1 Soliris RTS for one motor or group, or the Situo 5 Soliris RTS for several motors or groups.

These remotes provide normal manual control and allow the automatic sun function to be enabled or disabled on compatible systems. They are commonly used with external awnings and motorised shading.

Somfy Variation RTS Remotes

Somfy Variation RTS remotes are designed for compatible Venetian blinds, louvres and other applications requiring precise tilt adjustment.

The integrated scroll wheel provides finer positioning than a standard open and close remote. Choose a one channel or five channel model depending on the number of motors or groups being controlled.

Not Sure Which Somfy Remote to Choose?

The correct Somfy remote depends on your motor technology, the number of blinds and the type of control you require.

  • Choose Situo 1 RTS for one RTS motor or group

  • Choose Situo 2 RTS for two separately controlled motors or groups

  • Choose Situo 5 RTS for several blinds, rooms or groups

  • Choose Telis 16 RTS for a larger RTS installation

  • Choose Chronis RTS when you want built-in timers

  • Choose Soliris RTS for a compatible sun control system

  • Choose Variation RTS for precise Venetian blind tilt

  • Choose a Somfy Zigbee remote for a compatible Zigbee motor

Do not select a remote based only on the Somfy brand name. Confirm whether the motor uses RTS or Zigbee before ordering.

Somfy RTS and Zigbee Explained

Somfy motorised blinds use different control technologies, and the correct remote depends on the motor installed. The guide below explains the difference between Somfy RTS, Zigbee and wired motors so you can choose a compatible control and avoid ordering the wrong remote.

Somfy RTS Remotes

RTS stands for Radio Technology Somfy. It is Somfy’s established wireless control system for motorised blinds, curtains, awnings, shutters and screens.

An RTS remote communicates directly with a compatible RTS motor. Normal operation does not require:

  • Wi-Fi

  • An internet connection

  • A mobile app

  • A smart hub

  • A subscription

Somfy Situo, Telis, Chronis, Soliris and Variation RTS remotes belong to this system.

Somfy Zigbee Remotes

Zigbee is a separate wireless control technology used by newer Somfy motors.

A compatible Somfy Zigbee remote can control a Zigbee motor directly for normal everyday operation. Multi channel models can control several compatible motors individually or in groups.

Zigbee remotes cannot be substituted for RTS remotes, even when the products are both manufactured by Somfy.

Somfy Wired Motors

Some Somfy motors use wired controls rather than a built-in wireless receiver.

A handheld RTS or Zigbee remote will not control a wired motor directly unless a suitable compatible receiver or control interface has been installed.

Understanding Somfy Remote Channels

A remote channel does not necessarily represent only one blind.

One channel can operate:

  • One individual motorised blind

  • Several compatible blinds programmed as a group

  • All the blinds in one room

  • A larger group of blinds throughout the home

For example, three blinds controlled separately require three channels. If you also want all three to move together, an additional channel can be programmed as an “all blinds” group.

Choose a remote with spare channels if you may add more motorised blinds later.

Control Somfy Blinds Individually or Together

A multi channel Somfy remote allows you to organise motorised blinds around the way you use your home.

You could use:

  • Channel 1 for the kitchen blind

  • Channel 2 for the dining room blinds

  • Channel 3 for the living room blinds

  • Channel 4 for all western facing blinds

  • Channel 5 for the entire living area

A compatible motor can be assigned to an individual channel, a group channel or both.

All motors and remotes within that setup must use the same compatible control technology.

Replacing or Adding an Somfy Remote

An additional compatible Somfy remote can usually be added to an existing motorised blind system.

If you still have a working remote, it may be used during the pairing process. If the original remote has been lost, damaged or no longer operates the motor, a different procedure may be required.

Do not reset the motor until you have confirmed the correct process. Resetting may remove existing limits, channels and programming.

Before ordering a replacement remote, check:

  • Whether the motor uses RTS or Zigbee

  • The model number on the existing remote

  • The label on the motor, if accessible

  • The number of blinds being controlled

  • Whether the blinds operate individually or together

  • Whether you need timers, sun control or tilt adjustment

If you are unsure, send us clear photographs of the existing remote and motor label before ordering.

Find answers about Somfy remote compatibility, channels, pairing, group control, timers and replacing an existing motorised blind remote.

Do all Somfy remotes work with every Somfy motor?

No. Somfy motors in Australia can use RTS, Zigbee or wired controls. The remote must match the technology used by the motor.

How can I tell whether my Somfy motor is RTS or Zigbee?

Check the motor label, original remote, product documentation or purchase information. Send us clear photographs before ordering if you are unsure.

Will an RTS remote control a Somfy Zigbee motor?

No. RTS and Zigbee are different technologies and their remotes are not interchangeable.

Will a Zigbee remote control a Somfy RTS motor?

No. A Somfy Zigbee remote must be used with a compatible Zigbee motor.

Do Somfy remotes require Wi-Fi?

No. Compatible RTS and Zigbee handheld remotes can provide normal everyday motor control without Wi-Fi.

Do I need a smart hub to use a Somfy remote?

No. A compatible handheld remote can control its matching motor technology without a hub. A hub is used when you want compatible app, scene, voice or smart home functions.

Can one Somfy remote control multiple blinds?

Yes. One channel can operate one compatible motor or several compatible motors programmed as a group.

Can I control Somfy blinds separately and together?

Yes. A multi channel remote can use separate channels for individual blinds and another channel for the combined group.

What is the difference between Situo 1, Situo 2 and Situo 5 RTS?

Situo 1 has one RTS channel, Situo 2 has two RTS channels and Situo 5 has five RTS channels. Each channel can operate one compatible motor or a group.

Which Somfy remote has a built-in timer?

What does the Somfy “my” button do?

The “my” button stops a moving blind. On compatible motors, it can also save and recall a preferred blind position.

Will a Somfy remote control an Automate motor?

No. Somfy RTS, Somfy Zigbee and Automate ARC are different control systems.

Can I replace an older Somfy remote with a newer model?

Often, yes, provided the replacement uses the same technology and supports the application. Confirm whether the existing system uses RTS or Zigbee before ordering.

Can I add another remote to an existing Somfy motor?

Usually, yes. More than one compatible remote can generally be paired with the same motor. The exact procedure depends on the motor technology and whether an existing remote is still working.
