Automate Pulse Pro and Somfy TaHoma switch are not two competing hubs for the same blind motor. They belong to different motor ecosystems. In most cases, the motor brand and radio technology choose the hub for you.
If you have compatible Automate ARC motors, use Pulse Pro. If you have compatible Somfy RTS or Zigbee motors, use TaHoma switch. Do not choose on price or app features before identifying the motor.

After the hub and ARC shades are working in the Automate app, the QR code on the hub can be used to add Pulse Pro to a compatible Matter ecosystem. Third-party rooms, groups and scenes may need to be rebuilt in that ecosystem rather than being copied from the Automate app.
Somfy TaHoma switch
TaHoma switch is Somfy’s connected-control platform for compatible RTS, Zigbee 3.0 and other supported products. The TaHoma app provides home and away control, scenes and scheduling. Two customisable buttons on the hub can launch selected scenes.
TaHoma can manage both RTS and compatible Zigbee products, but those technologies behave differently. RTS is one-way, while compatible Zigbee motors can provide two-way position and battery feedback. Apple Home compatibility is product-specific and should not be assumed for every TaHoma-connected device.
Which has better voice control?
Pulse Pro’s Matter support gives a clear connection path to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings when the required Matter controller is available.
TaHoma supports Google and Amazon voice services for compatible equipment. Apple Home support in Australia is limited to selected compatible Zigbee products; Somfy RTS blinds should not be purchased on the assumption that TaHoma will expose them to Apple Home.
Which is better for schedules and scenes?
Both hubs provide app-based routines. Pulse Pro supports rooms, scenes and timers in the Automate Shades app. TaHoma supports scenes and scheduling, with two physical scene-launch buttons on the hub.
The better system is the one matching the motors. If both motor ecosystems exist in one house, each brand hub can manage its own motors. A higher-level platform may then coordinate supported devices, but the brand hubs still perform the motor-radio work.
Which provides better feedback?
Automate ARC is a two-way system, allowing Pulse Pro to report compatible shade position, battery and signal information. Somfy Zigbee is also two-way and can report supported status through TaHoma. Somfy RTS is one-way, so live confirmation is more limited.
