Somfy Smoove Frames Explained: Pure, Black, Silver and Double Pure

Somfy Smoove wall controls use a separate control module and outer frame. This makes it possible to change the surrounding frame without replacing the electronic controller, but it can also cause confusion when comparing colours and product listings.
Pure, Black and Silver describe outer-frame options. The Smoove RTS II control face remains Pure. Double Pure is a wider outer frame designed to hold two compatible Smoove 1 modules; it is not another electronic switch model.
What Comes With a Smoove RTS II Control?
The Smoove 1 RTS II and Smoove 4 RTS II products supplied with a Pure frame include the control module and the standard single Pure outer frame. If Pure suits the room, no additional frame is needed.
When buying from any listing, check whether it says the frame is included. A replacement module, accessory frame or older listing may be packaged differently.
Pure Frame
Pure is the clean white frame supplied with the standard Smoove RTS II wall-control package. It suits most white walls, switches and power points and gives the control a simple, low-contrast appearance.
Pure is also the correct choice when replacing a marked or damaged standard frame without changing the control module.
Black Frame
The Black outer frame adds a stronger contrast around the Pure control face. It can suit dark joinery, black switch plates, media rooms or contemporary interiors where a white outer border would stand out.
Only the frame colour changes. It does not alter the RTS technology, channel count, battery, pairing process or button functions.
Silver Frame
The Silver outer frame provides a metallic-looking border around the Pure control module. It can coordinate with stainless, aluminium or silver-toned interior details.
As with the Black option, the frame is a cosmetic accessory. The electronic module and its compatibility remain unchanged.
Double Pure Frame
Double Pure is a wider outer frame that holds two Smoove 1 modules side by side. The official configuration is for two Smoove RTS 1-style modules, and the modules are sold separately.
The frame is approximately 80 mm high, 150 mm wide and 10 mm deep. It is useful when two dedicated one-channel controls are easier to understand than selecting channels on a multi-channel controller.
For example, one module can control a privacy blind and the other a blockout blind, or one can control the left side of a room and the other the right side. Each module remains its own one-channel control.
Double Pure Is Not a Two-Channel Switch
The Double Pure frame does not contain a receiver, buttons or radio electronics. It does not combine two motors automatically and does not turn one Smoove module into a two-channel controller.
To complete the arrangement, you need the Double Pure frame plus two compatible Smoove 1 control modules. Each module must then be paired and planned separately.
Can Smoove 4 Go in a Double Pure Frame?
Treat Double Pure as the specified two-module frame for Smoove 1 controls. If you want four selectable channels from one control, choose Smoove 4 RTS II with a compatible single frame rather than assuming the double frame is intended for two Smoove 4 modules.
How to Choose the Right Frame
Match the room rather than the blind fabric
The wall control remains in view after curtains and blinds move. Match the frame to wall colour, nearby electrical plates, joinery and hardware.
Check the number of modules
Use a single frame for one Smoove control module. Use Double Pure only when the planned layout requires two compatible Smoove 1 modules together.
Confirm what the listing includes
A frame listing may be for the cosmetic outer frame only. Do not expect buttons or radio control unless the Smoove module is explicitly included.
Confirm motor compatibility separately
Changing the frame never changes the control protocol. A Smoove RTS II module still requires a compatible Somfy RTS motor or receiver, regardless of the outer-frame colour.
