The choice between the Somfy Smoove 1 RTS II and Smoove 4 RTS II is mainly about how many blinds or groups you want to select independently from one wall control. Both use Somfy RTS radio technology, but their channel layouts suit different rooms and installations.
Smoove 1 RTS II: One Simple Control Point
Smoove 1 RTS II has one channel. It can control one compatible RTS motor, or several compatible RTS motors that have been programmed to operate together as a group.
It is a strong choice beside a single window, at the entrance to a room where every blind should move together, or as a dedicated whole-room control when individual control is available elsewhere.
Smoove 4 RTS II: Four Selectable Channels
Smoove 4 RTS II provides four channels. Each channel can be assigned to an individual blind or a group of compatible RTS motors. This makes it useful for a room with several blinds, different window orientations or separate zones.
For example, channel one could control the eastern blinds, channel two the western blinds, channel three a privacy blind and channel four a whole-room group. Good channel planning makes the four-channel model much more useful than simply assigning one motor to every channel.
What Both Controls Have in Common
Both models are battery-powered, wire-free RTS II wall controls. They provide open, close and stop commands plus Somfy’s “my” button for recalling a programmed favourite position.

Choose Smoove 1 RTS II and program the three compatible motors to the same channel. Keep an individual control for each motor if you may need to adjust limits or diagnose one blind later.
Four blinds that need separate control
Choose Smoove 4 RTS II and assign one blind to each channel. Consider whether you also need a separate group command through another control or TaHoma.
Two obvious room zones
Two Smoove 1 modules in a Double Pure frame may be more intuitive than a four-channel control, especially when each module can be labelled or consistently associated with one zone.
When a Handheld Remote or Hub May Be Better
A wall control is ideal when the controller should always be easy to find. A handheld remote is more convenient when you want to operate blinds from different locations. TaHoma may be worth considering when you also want phone control, scenes, schedules, voice integration or away-from-home access.
You do not have to choose only one control type. Compatible RTS installations can generally use a wall control and handheld remote together, with a compatible hub added if smart features are required.
