Automate External Battery Packs: Which Battery and Charger Do I Need?

Automate uses external rechargeable batteries across several product families. External simply means the battery sits outside the motor; it does not mean every external battery is for outdoor blinds, and it does not mean the packs or chargers are interchangeable.
Quick answer: identify the battery pack as well as the motor. The current general external pack we stock for compatible 12V DCRF motors is charged through 5V Micro-B. The DC FT outdoor system has its own 12V battery pack and dedicated charger. Versa curtain systems use a separate rechargeable curtain battery module.
External Battery Pack for Compatible 12V DCRF Motors

The current pack we stock, product code MT03-0305-069003, powers compatible 12V DCRF motors while its own charging input is 5V Micro-B. You charge the battery pack, not the 12V motor.
Shop the Automate Rechargeable Battery Pack or use our charger finder if the labels are confusing.
DC FT Outdoor Battery Pack: A Separate System

The DC FT15 outdoor motor uses a dedicated 12V rechargeable external battery pack, product code MT03-0305-050011. It is charged using the dedicated DC FT charger, not the standard indoor 12V wall charger.

Versa Curtain Battery Module
Automate Versa motorised curtain tracks can use a purpose-built external rechargeable battery module. It is a curtain-system battery module, not a general blind battery, and it should stay within the Versa power ecosystem.
Before Ordering an External Battery or Charger
Check the motor model, battery product code, connector and installation environment. If an old battery has failed, send us a clear photo of the battery label and both ends of its cable. That is more reliable than matching a replacement by shape or motor voltage alone.
