Not Sure Which Automate Remote to Choose?

Our complete guide compares the Push One, Push 5, Push 15 and Push PRO, including channel capacity, grouping and timer features.

Understanding Automate Remote Channels

A remote channel does not necessarily represent only one blind. One channel can operate:

  • One individual motorised blind

  • Several blinds programmed to move together

  • All the blinds in a particular room

  • A larger group of blinds throughout the home

For example, three blinds controlled separately require three channels. If you also want to operate all three together, you can program an additional channel as an “all blinds” group.

Allowing spare channels is worthwhile if you may add more motorised blinds later.

Genuine Automate ARC Remote Controls

Automate Push remotes use ARC—Automate Radio Communication—to communicate directly with compatible Automate motors.

This radio-frequency connection means normal remote operation does not require:

  • Wi-Fi

  • An internet connection

  • A mobile application

  • A smart-home hub

  • A paid subscription

Simply pair the compatible remote with the motor and use it to open, close, stop or move the blind to its saved favourite position.

Control Blinds Individually or as a Group

Multi-channel Automate remotes provide flexible control over larger installations.

You could use:

  • Channel 1 for the kitchen blind

  • Channel 2 for the dining-room blinds

  • Channel 3 for the living-room blinds

  • Channel 4 for all western-facing blinds

  • Channel 5 to operate the entire living area together

The exact setup is determined during programming and can be organised around the way you use your home.

Replacing or Adding an Automate Remote

An additional compatible remote can normally be paired with an existing Automate ARC motor using a working remote.

If your original remote has been lost, damaged or no longer works, the programming procedure may be different. Do not reset the motor until you have confirmed the correct process, as resetting it may remove existing limits and programming.

If you’re uncertain, send us:

  • A clear photograph of your existing remote

  • A photograph of the motor label, if accessible

  • The number of blinds being controlled

  • Whether the blinds currently operate separately or together

We’ll help you identify the most suitable replacement Automate remote.

Automate Remote FAQs

Find answers about Automate remote compatibility, channels, pairing, group control, timers and replacing an existing motorised-blind remote.

Can one Automate remote control multiple blinds?

Yes. One channel can operate a single blind or multiple compatible blinds programmed as a group.

Can I control blinds separately and together?

Yes. A multi-channel remote can dedicate channels to individual blinds and use another channel to operate them together.

Do Automate remotes need Wi-Fi?

No. Automate ARC remotes communicate directly with compatible motors using radio frequency and do not require Wi-Fi.

Do I need an Automate hub to use a remote?

No. A compatible Automate remote can control ARC motors without a hub, app or internet connection.

Which Automate remote has timers?

The Automate Push PRO includes built-in scheduling and supports up to 10 timed shade movements.

Can I add a second remote to my motorised blinds?

Usually, yes. Multiple compatible Automate remotes can generally be paired with the same motor.

Will an Automate remote work with Somfy motors?

No. Standard Automate ARC and Somfy RTS controls use different systems and should not be treated as interchangeable.

How do I know whether my motor is ARC compatible?

Check the motor label, existing remote or product documentation. If you’re unsure, send us clear photographs before ordering.

Can these remotes control curtains and awnings?

They can control compatible Automate ARC motors used in roller blinds, curtains, awnings and other motorised shading products.

What happens if my Automate remote is locked?

A locked remote can still operate the blinds normally, but certain programming functions may be disabled. Follow the instructions for your exact remote model before changing its settings.
