Somfy offers several ways to control compatible motors—from handheld remotes and fixed wall switches to app control, schedules and voice commands through the TaHoma Switch.

Somfy RTS and Zigbee Are Different
Somfy RTS and Somfy Zigbee are different control technologies. An RTS remote cannot be paired directly with a Zigbee motor, and a Zigbee remote will not directly control an RTS motor.
Always match the remote, wall switch or hub to the technology used by your motor.
Do Somfy Remotes and Wall Switches Need a Hub?
No. A compatible Somfy remote or wall switch communicates directly with the motor.
You only need a TaHoma Switch if you want features such as app control, schedules, scenes, voice commands or compatible smart-home integration.
Can Different Somfy Controls Work Together?
Yes, provided they are compatible with the motor’s technology. For example, the same motor may be operated by a handheld remote, a wall switch and the TaHoma Switch.
Check Your Motor Before Ordering
Before choosing a Somfy control, check whether your motor uses RTS or Zigbee. These controls will not directly operate Automate ARC motors or unrelated motor brands.
